Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and eating at an early age. After earning an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It is a huge influence on how Burrell cooks. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it is a privilege to be in a position to be able to share this love of the food industry with people.
